The really impressive part is that she saw the train wreck coming and got out of the way. Had she been a Real Democrat rather than just a RINO she would have held on until every last court challenge had ground to a halt. Even the bad Republicans are better than the best Democrats.

I wondered about that as well. It seems rather bizarre that you could just walk into a place dressed as a stereotypical pimp and get brothel management advice.

Apparently, there has been a lot of suspicion within the non-profit/charity world about Acorn for a long time. I imagine the journalist started with those suspicions. Since it is a dead certainty that this is far from the first time Acorn has pulled this the journalist most likely heard stories of Acorn helping criminals and decided to follow up with it.

I have to give them credit. Had someone told me an advocacy group was systematically enabling crimes I would not have believed it even if it was a leftwing organization. I know to many leftists with integrity (used to be one myself) so I just don’t associate them with this kind of failure.

Does this make one think that the government has read somewhere about how there is a sucker born every minute. Yes, I think these are the same group of people that bought houses with nothing down to get into houses they couldn’t afford; now it’s cars. As a furhter insult, they destroy cars that may be perfectly good and usable by someone. Ship them to Chima as payment on the debt. Did you see the video showing them destroying the engine in a Volvo that looked almost brand new but tehy have to destroy these evil gas hogs to save the planet! Talk about “acting stupidly!”

I don’t know why that posted early. Forgive me.

CMMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services), along with the AMA and another proprietary body called AHIMA establish and enumerate the acceptable procedure codes, and assign reimbursement rates to those codes. Many people would give a great deal of money to know from what orifice they pull those rates. But here’s a clue: they’re set by … specialists! Yes, another proprietary group within CMMS that is dominated by specialists gets that job. Please don’t miss the comments. The third comment sheds light on the inevitable failure of a two-tier system of reimbursement. Bear in mind that another, different yet still two-tier system is what ObamaCare purports to establish. Conflict between the two tiers is being built into the system. CMMS sets the reimbursement rules. M question is, where do they expect to find enough doctors to staff their single-tier system?

Medicare will reimburse those procedures it deems worthy, and will pay more for procedures it values more. It may be that when Medicare established those reimbursement rates the line between generalist and specialist doctors was more brightly drawn. I will say that the first time I encountered a specialist procedure performed in a generalist setting was the mid-1980’s.
