Bret Stephens: Two Ground Zeroes –

November 18, 2009

I’ve often admired Bret Stephens clarity of thought, but this takes it to 11:

I have long thought it would be a good idea to bring 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his accomplices to lower Manhattan. In my concept, the men would be taken by helicopter to a height of about 1,000 feet over Ground Zero and pushed out the door, so that they, too, could experience what so many of their victims did in the awful final flickering seconds of their lives.

Great article in the Weekly Standard about an upcoming movie that’s going to be absurdly controversial and hopefully absurdly entertaining as well.  An American Carol will be a full strength fisking of Michael Moore with a plot stolen borrowed from Dickens.   This could be a lot of fun.

…the film follows the exploits of a slovenly, anti-American filmmaker named Michael Malone, who has joined with a left-wing activist group ( to ban the Fourth of July. Along the way, Malone is visited by the ghosts of three American heroes–George Washington, George S. Patton, and John F. Kennedy–who try to convince him he’s got it all wrong…

Quite possibly, the best Bleat ever.

It wouldn’t sound odd coming from a Marxist critic of religion, but it does sound peculiar coming from the head of a church. As for the imposition of religious identity to serve the interest of empire, at least we know now why India turned into a totally Christian nation in the 19th century. That one has bothered me for a long time.

Winds of Change.NET: Britain’s F-35 Pullout Threat, And The Future of the Anglosphere (updated) I’ve been a programmer professionally for the last seven years and absolutely recognize the need for security of the code for the F-35 program, but if we can’t work with our development partners to find a solution on this, we have a serious problem.
